Kyle Younker (Christian Science Monitor) writes about a major development in investigations of officials during Argentina’s Dirty War; a big source of evidence was a plane discovered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Discovered in 2009, the plane was allegedly used by Argentina’s military dictatorship to drop suspected leftists to their death into the Río de la Plata and it is now providing key evidence in the country’s biggest human rights case ever. Many former officials on are being charged in hundreds of instances of kidnapping, torture, and murder, with as many as 900 witnesses testifying.
